The Definition of Emo

Why the Emo Look Is So Dreadful. I’d Rather Wear Nothing!

I really cannot explain why I dislike the entire Emo look without going off on a complete rant that could last for years. So instead, I will just give a few brief reasons about why the look sucks so badly and I refuse to ever wear it.

I for one really like being an individual. I kinda like the idea that I can go out in public and not worry about seeing 50 other people who look exactly like me from haircut down to shoes. The idea of seeing a lot of other people that look exactly like me is quite frankly repulsive. If I wanted to look just like everyone else I would just jump off a bridge.

Instead, I choose to be individual and pick out clothes that all look different. Additionally, you certainly do not see me sporting the exact same hairstyle as those 50 other people. My hair is completely different than most others and it will stay this way. Being forced to dress and look like everybody else is just insane, and choosing to do so is even worse. The idea of looking and dressing like that is enough to make me want to strip down right now.

first of, this article is completely untrue.
in the emo fashion (and i know) you get to express yourself individually with your hair. IF you dont know anything about emo’s dont f*cking write anything about them!

Who wrote this, do you know anything? Emo isn’t just dressing scene, its a lifestyle. We express ourselves in lots of different ways, and we don’t all have the same hairstyles or clothing, get a freaking life.

you dress how you dress because you like it right? or are you just a try hard who is trying to be different then everyone else so you appear unique? Well either way You dress how you drss becuase you want to and you like the style right, well as for emo’s… punk’s.. prep’s.. anyone, did you ever stop being so conceided for 10 seconds to think, “Hey maybe they dress like that because the like it and want to” no, you just assume they all do it to be the same. Well there infact makes you the worse of them all for judging before knowing. I happen to dress 1/2 gothy 1/2 emo, why because I think it i pretty and i love the clothing. so you can shove it

uhhhhhhh…its called clothes…and they probably like to wear them….i mean we can say the same about chavs if this is the case like “oh why do all chavs dress like tramps i.e. shell suites and why do they go around causing trouble….just let them live their own life and you live yours…thats if you got one

We don’t want to see you naked anyways. If you don’t like it, don’t dress it. Simple.

You should be mature enough to know not to pick on highschoolers. Yu’re pathetic, and we don’t care.

We have more than enough things we can say about how everyone else dresses. Like those Anorexic girls who wear booty shorts. As if we need to see that.

I’m not an emo. I’ll just stand up with them. Actually I’m classified as a punk lolita.

You need to get a life. Grow up already.

i am an emo girl. (thanks for the ego boost you gave me from your blog). it has to be said that the majority of the time it is the parent’s foult that a child turns to this “emo” culture. maybe if you treat your kid like a human being for once they might not be so depressed and lost.

ok first of all, people who are emo express themselves wayyyyy better than others. all people look the same on the outside but we all are completely different on the inside. thats why you never judge someone by what they look like. we all get to express ourselves differntly, all emo people look totally different from oneanoth, and even if they did look completely like one another it’s their choice not yours so BACK OFF YOU FUCKING BITCH!!!!

I can understand not liking a trend, or being annoyed by a certain clique. I can also understand the aggravation someone feels when they look around and everyone is a clone. But the one thing I don’t understand is how you can sit at your computer and complain, day in, day out about one subculture over and over. There are plenty of blogs that have people venting on ANYTHING that annoys them, and even if they do happen to diss the emo culture, I can at least credit them for complaining about DIFFERENT THINGS from week to week.

The idea that someone would make a domain, not just a freebie blog, but a bought and paid for domain to complain about one thing that bugs them? I think that’s borderline obsessive. Either you don’t know how to let it go, or your child is an emo and you can’t control every aspect of their life so you resort to harassing their particular culture.

I…I don’t even know how to say it all. It just blows my mind. I’m not even really an emo kid and this blows my mind. Just think of what all the emo kids that read this are going to feel. I think you need to stop juding people by the way they dress and start getting to know them before you say something nasty that you think is intelligent. The way you dress DOES NOT define what type of person you are, or vice versa.

Not all emos are the stereotype that you believe them to be. Instead of complaining, you should go out and talk to teenagers today. There are a couple of us around that have intelligent thought these days, NO MATTER WHAT WE LOOK LIKE.

Psssh stupid fucktards…u can’t just say sum1 is emo by the way we dress. Its just plain retarded. Can’t ppl can dress the way they want and act the way they want without being labled? Well u ppl make me think otherwise. Stop being childish and grow up! Its not fair to us emo kids when u just go around sperding ur stupid lies to every 1. Its giving us a bad reputation…its bad enough that sum kids get shuned because of expressing themselves. So stop being such dicks and leave us alone…

    Fuck u and have a nice day…

    you are so wrong.
we’re all individuals and we choose to dress the way we want to.
No one is forcing us to dress like that, that’s just what we like.
So if you have a problem with the “emo” style, then you don’t have to look like that.
You saying that is very judgmental. You obviously don’t know anything about this, so don’t try.

Peole who claim to be *more* expressive because they dress odly are being very shallow. Its unheathy to confuse who you are with what you look like. Its like saying no-one who dresses fashionably could be an artist or a musician. It s so narrow minded.

this is a complete load of b*lloks - ppl have their own styles which act as extensions of their personalities and define them as people! We are original not like u fashion finatics that follow people like heards of sheep and only dress in the latest styles- in fact emo is the total oppisite of what the people on this website r saying!!! Emo is ALL ABOUT individuality- we set our own trends and hairstyles aren’t set- u can b emo without having black hair u know! And u rn’t ‘forced’ 2 dress a certain way- ppl CHOOSE 2 do this and it helps convey emotion.

Sarah has said it all, not just for this blog post, but for this entire site.
Who are you, seriously? Are you a part of relphy.com? Because that’s the only piece of information you have on this site other than complaints about all things “emo”.
When I stumble upon groups or individuals with some bias that is obviously wrong to hold in contemporary society, it’s ridiculous and sorta funny.
You made my day! This blog is absolute LOL material!

Complaints can be left here.
